Wrestling Biography

Lizette first began her grappling career at Cahill’s Judo Academy at the age of 10 years old.
Over those years she trained hard to perfect her judo techniques and traveled across the
country while winning multiple state championships and national Championship titles in the
sport. At the age of 15 she received her purple belt and was able to compete in the blackbelt
division where she won multiple competitions against much older and mature black belts.
Eventually she would go on to earn her black belt from Coach Willy Cahill at the age of 18.
While competing in Judo Lizette began to wrestle under her fathers instruction at 14 years old.
During her wrestling career she learned how to cross over her judo techniques into her wrestling
techniques which led her to win several freestyle state championships, and qualified for the
California National team all 4 years of highschool where she earned an All-American Status.
She eventually would get recruited by Joey Bareng where she wrestled under his instruction at
Menlo College and became a team captain and helped lead their team to their first national
championship in school history. While at Menlo college she also earned her Bachelor’s degree
in psychology and wrote her senior thesis on sports performance anxiety. She hopes to use her
knowledge to help better the mental health of her athletes.
As for coaching experience, Lizette was blessed with the opportunity to be an assistant coach
for her father’s wrestling club during her college years. She’s coached children from the ages of
6-18 years old and has been able to provide a safe and fun learning environment for children
