CollegePreps first State Champion and state placers
On Saturday, March 2nd, College Prep Wrestling Academy celebrated a remarkable achievement as two of our athletes competed in the 16U California Folkstyle State Championships. Katherine Love and Maggie Tobacco showcased exceptional skills, each concluding the tournament with an impressive 8-1 record combined.
Katherine Love emerged as a standout, clinching the top spot on the podium and securing College Prep’s first-ever State Champion title. Meanwhile, Maggie Tobacco displayed tremendous resilience, earning a bear trophy and finishing in 3rd place.
The following day, Katherine Love continued her stellar performance by competing in the Junior division. Once again, she demonstrated her prowess on the mat, earning another bear trophy with a 3rd place finish. Notably, Katherine’s victory in the third-place match included a fall over Shayna Ward, a California high school State medalist and finalist.
This remarkable achievement adds yet another impressive accolade to Katherine’s bio. Congratulations on this outstanding accomplishment!
