College Prep Wrestling Academy Shines at California Kids Freestyle Championship

This past weekend, the College Prep Wrestling Academy (CPWA) showcased their talent and determination at the California Kids Freestyle Championship. Competing against the best young wrestlers in the state, CPWA brought six athletes to the tournament and proudly returned with three state medalists.

Standout Performances

Leading the charge were Rane Mitchelle and James Bareng, both currently in 5th grade. Rane Mitchelle delivered a stellar performance in her first state competition, finishing 4th on the podium. Her dedication and hard work paid off, setting a high standard for her future wrestling endeavors.

James Bareng also made a significant impact, securing 8th place and earning his first state tournament medal. His perseverance and skill were evident as he competed against some of the toughest opponents in the state. Both Rane and James’s accomplishments highlight a promising future for the College Prep Wrestling Academy.

The weekend also saw brave performances from Jaxon and Lukas Diaz, Valentina Castillo, and Jayme Bareng. Although they did not place, their participation in such a high-caliber tournament speaks volumes about their courage and commitment to the sport.
